The road to a new online edition in early 2027—and the original release history.

Site restoration

A new home for the film

The original Love Songs for Scumbags website was built for a much smaller web. We are now preserving its poster, artwork, stills and production material in a new site designed for phones as well as large screens.

The film itself is not being released here yet. We are preparing a new online edition for the beginning of 2027, including a new streaming home and the age-classification and rights work that should accompany it. Progress will be recorded here.

The original online release

Although Love Songs for Scumbags had existed in some form since Phillip Lee Duncan’s death in 2012, it took several more years to prepare the film for a proper release. On Phillip’s fiftieth birthday, the film became available to rent or purchase through Vimeo On Demand.

Our hope was that the films, poems, songs and paintings Phillip left behind would no longer linger in obscurity. That remains the purpose of this site.

Next milestone

Early 2027

The release date and viewing terms will be announced only when the new streaming edition is ready.
